Apply with AirCard for Mac

Connect your iPhone to a Mac, scan your Wallet cards, drop the image on a card and flash.

ImportantiPhones below iOS 18 aren’t supported. Both Apple silicon and Intel Macs work.

To check: on iPhone, open Settings › General › About. On a Mac, choose Apple menu › About This Mac.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Check your versions

    On the iPhone, open Settings › General › About and make sure it’s on iOS 18 or later. On the Mac, choose Apple menu › About This Mac and make sure it’s on macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

    ImportantiOS 17 and earlier aren’t supported — update first.

  2. Step 2: Download AirCard

    Open AirCard’s GitHub Releases page(opens in a new tab) and download AirCard.dmg from the Assets of the latest release (currently v1.2.4).

    TipOnly download from the official repository — avoid modified builds from elsewhere.

  3. Step 3: Install

    Open AirCard.dmg and drag AirCard.app into Applications. It runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

  4. Step 4: First launch

    If macOS says the developer can’t be verified: in Applications, right-click (or Control-click) AirCard, choose Open, then click Open again.

    TipIf that still fails, run this in Terminal (it asks for your Mac login password, which isn’t shown as you type), then open AirCard again:

  5. Step 5: Connect your iPhone

    Connect the iPhone with a USB cable and keep it unlocked. If it asks “Trust This Computer?”, tap Trust and enter your passcode.

  6. Step 6: Scan your cards

    In AirCard, stay on the Wallet Cards tab and click Scan Cards.

  7. Step 7: Bring up Apple Pay on the iPhone

    Double-click the side button to open Apple Pay, authenticate with Face ID, then tap the card you want to change (tap again if nothing happens). AirCard detects it instantly.

    TipTo change several cards, switch to and tap each one in turn.

  8. Step 8: Drop in the new art

    Drag the PNG you downloaded from CardArt onto the card mockup, or click the mockup to choose the file. You can also apply one design to every card at once.

  9. Step 9: Flash

    Click Flash Skins and wait for it to finish. Don’t unplug the cable or lock the iPhone meanwhile.

  10. Step 10: See the result

    Force-close the Wallet app from the App Switcher (or restart the iPhone), then open Wallet again to see your new card.

  11. Done

    Follow the steps above and you’re all set.
