1Uploader responsibility

When you upload, you confirm that:

• you created the work, or the rights holder has allowed you to share it on CardArt for others’ personal use;
• it doesn’t infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, image rights or other rights;
• it contains no real card numbers, personal data or scannable payment codes.

This declaration is part of every upload. If it isn’t true, you’re responsible for the consequences and the work will be removed.

2Fan art and official designs

Many people love designing art inspired by real bank or transit cards. We welcome fan art with genuine original expression, but please keep in mind:

• copying an issuer’s official card design, or changing it only slightly, usually isn’t original and may be removed at the rights holder’s request;
• bank, network and transit names and logos are there to identify the card — don’t make your work look officially issued or endorsed;
• before using someone else’s illustration, photo, character or font, check that their license allows it;
• credit your inspiration or source material in the description where relevant.

Even for fan art, rights holders can ask for removal. When we receive a valid notice, we follow the process below.

3Sending a takedown notice

If you believe content on CardArt infringes your copyright or trademark (or that of someone you represent), tell us in either of these ways:

• click Report on the card page, pick the copyright reason, and include the details below;
• email copyright@cardart.cc.

To help us act quickly, please include:

1. 1.a description of the work you believe is infringed, such as a link to the original or proof that you own the rights;
2. 2.the URL of the content on CardArt, for example https://cardart.cc/c/…;
3. 3.your contact details: name, email and, if applicable, the organization you represent;
4. 4.a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn’t authorized by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
5. 5.a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf;
6. 6.your signature — an electronic one is fine, such as your full name at the end of the email.

If a notice is incomplete, we may not be able to act on it and will ask you for the missing details. Knowingly sending a false notice may have legal consequences.

4What happens next

• We usually reply within 3 business days.
• If the notice is valid, we remove the content and tell the uploader why, including the substance of the notice. We won’t share your email or other contact details unless you agree or the law requires it.
• For urgent or clear-cut cases, we may remove content first and review further afterwards.

5Counter-notice

If your work was removed after a takedown notice and you believe it was a mistake — for example, it’s entirely your own work or you have permission — email copyright@cardart.cc with a counter-notice that includes:

1. 1.the URL or title of the removed work;
2. 2.a statement that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
3. 3.any material showing you have the rights, if available;
4. 4.your name, contact details and signature.

We’ll forward the counter-notice to the original sender. If they don’t tell us within a reasonable time (usually 10 business days) that they’re taking further action, we may restore the work.

6Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing content will have uploading restricted or be disabled, and may be barred from signing up again.

7Other problems

If the problem isn’t copyright but sexual content, violence, exposed personal data or spam, use the Report button next to the card or comment and we’ll handle it under our Terms. For issues involving your personal information, you can also email privacy@cardart.cc.
