Terms of Service

Last updated November 3, 2026

These terms explain what you and we can expect from each other when you use cardart.cc.

About CardArt

CardArt (cardart.cc) is a community gallery where people share, browse and download Apple Wallet card art. The images can be used with third-party tools such as AirCard, AirCard-iOS and AirCard-Windows to change how cards look in Wallet on your own device.

CardArt is an independent project. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. or the authors of AirCard, AirCard-iOS and AirCard-Windows. Apple, Apple Pay, Apple Wallet and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Accepting these terms

By accessing or using CardArt, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Copyright & Takedown policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use CardArt.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re 13 or older but under the age at which you can agree to these terms where you live, use CardArt only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

Your account

  • You can sign in with Google or Apple, or with a code sent to your email. Browsing and downloading don’t require an account; uploading, liking, commenting and reporting do.
  • Keep your sign-in email and your Google or Apple account secure — you’re responsible for activity on your CardArt account. If you think it’s been compromised, tell us right away.
  • Your handle must not impersonate anyone or any organization, and must not be offensive.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Your content

The card art you upload, along with titles, descriptions, tags and comments (“your content”), remains yours or its original rights holder’s.

By uploading, you give CardArt a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, copy, process (for example resize, convert and strip metadata), display and distribute your content in order to run CardArt, and to let other users download and use it as these terms allow. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already downloaded, short-term backups and records we must keep by law.

You confirm that you own or have permission for everything you upload, and that your content doesn’t break these terms or the law. If you make fan art, please read the Copyright & Takedown policy first.

Acceptable use

Please don’t upload or post:

  • sexual or sexually suggestive content, or anything that sexualizes minors;
  • content that promotes hate, discrimination, harassment or violence;
  • real card numbers, expiry dates, CVVs, ID numbers, real names, addresses or other personal data, or any scannable QR code or barcode (including payment codes);
  • content that impersonates a person, organization or official source, or that could be mistaken for an officially issued card;
  • content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • spam, ads (other than paid ads booked under our Advertising Policy), fake engagement, or content unrelated to card art;
  • malware, phishing links or anything else illegal.

Also, please don’t bypass or interfere with our security measures or rate limits, scrape, download or upload in bulk with automated tools, use someone else’s account, or disrupt other people’s use of CardArt.

Downloading and using card art

Unless the creator says otherwise, art downloaded from CardArt is for your personal, non-commercial use — such as putting it in your own Apple Wallet. Without the creator’s permission, please don’t resell it, republish it elsewhere, print it on physical cards or use it commercially.

If a creator grants broader permission in the card’s description, their terms apply.

Trademarks and logos

Names and logos of banks, issuers, card networks (such as Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay and JCB) and transit cards that appear in card art belong to their owners. They appear on CardArt only to identify which card a design is for, and don’t imply any affiliation with, or endorsement or sponsorship by, those organizations.

Rights holders with concerns can reach us through the Copyright & Takedown policy.

Maker asset library

The asset library in the maker holds bank, card network, tier and transit marks, among others. CardArt selected and prepared these files — cleaning up the artwork, adjusting colors, making one-color and dark-background versions — and arranged them by category and region. The library, including the files and their arrangement, is only for making card art in the CardArt maker.

Please don’t:

  • extract, download, mirror or bulk-collect the asset files on their own, including by fetching them outside the maker;
  • redistribute the files, or make them available for anyone else to extract in any way;
  • use them to build or offer a service similar to CardArt, such as another card maker or logo library.

The marks themselves, and the trademark rights in them, belong to their owners. Nothing in these terms grants you any trademark rights.

Maker fonts

Text in the maker can use the open-source fonts below. Each is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL). CardArt serves the web-subset versions published by Google Fonts / Fontsource, the Chinese Web Fonts project (中文网字计划), lxgw-wenkai-webfont and the author of Pretendard (WOFF2 split by character range), plus the complete WOFF2 of Smiley Sans published by its authors, all with no further changes, and loads them only when used. The full license for each font is published with it: follow its “License” link. Card art you make with these fonts is yours to use; using or redistributing the font files themselves is governed by their licenses.

The site’s own interface also uses open-source fonts, likewise licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1: Geist, below, for Latin letters and numbers; in the Japanese interface on devices without Hiragino, Noto Sans JP, with Noto Sans SC from the same design for simplified Chinese characters it lacks, both below (the Google Fonts web subsets, unmodified; only the slices in use are loaded); and, in the Korean interface on devices without Apple SD Gothic Neo, Pretendard (the same font listed above: the author’s web subset, unmodified; only the Hangul slices are loaded).

Maker brushes

Brushes in the maker are painted by the open-source software below, running in your browser. hokusai is a Rust port of libmypaint; CardArt compiles it without changing its code. The brush files come unchanged from mypaint-brushes(opens in a new tab), released under CC0 1.0.

Maker background removal

Remove background in the maker uses the open-source model and software below. It runs in your browser, your image isn’t uploaded, and the model is downloaded only after you agree. The model is IS-Net’s isnet-general-use weights (Apache License 2.0), taken from the ONNX file rembg publishes; CardArt removed outputs it doesn’t use and reduced the weights to 8-bit integers, without retraining. It runs on ONNX Runtime; the licenses of the components it includes are in its third-party notices.

AirCard and your device

AirCard, AirCard-iOS and AirCard-Windows are open-source tools made by third parties. CardArt doesn’t build or maintain them and makes no promises about them. They change local files on your device through a system mechanism that Apple doesn’t support.

  • Back up your data first. AirCard can’t currently back up a card’s original art — debit and credit cards can be restored by selecting them once in Express Transit Card; other cards have to be removed and re-added in Wallet.
  • iOS updates may revert custom art or stop the tools from working for a while.
  • Only download the tools from their official repositories.
  • You use these tools at your own risk.

Our guides are for reference only and may not cover every device or iOS version.

Advertising

CardArt shows a few paid ads, always marked with a label such as AD. They come from advertisers who book them with us directly and pass our review. We don’t endorse the products advertised, and an ad’s link takes you to a site we don’t control, where its own terms and privacy policy apply.

If you buy an ad, our Advertising Policy also applies and forms part of these terms. Paid ads booked under it are the only advertising allowed on CardArt; everywhere else (cards, titles, descriptions, comments and profiles) the rules in Acceptable use apply.

To report an ad, use “Report” at the bottom of the ad card, or email hello@cardart.cc.

Moderation and removal

Uploads and comments are checked automatically first and reviewed by a moderator when needed. We may reject, hide or remove content that we believe breaks these terms, infringes someone’s rights or creates risk, without necessarily giving notice first.

If your card is rejected or removed, you’ll be notified. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@cardart.cc to appeal.

Signed-in users can flag a problem with the Report button on a card’s page, next to a comment or on a profile.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using CardArt at any time and delete your account in Settings.

If you break these terms, repeatedly infringe or abuse the service, we may limit features or suspend or permanently disable your account — without notice where the situation is serious or the law requires it.

We may also change, pause or discontinue all or part of CardArt. If we decide to shut it down, we’ll try to give advance notice.

Disclaimers

CardArt is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be available or error-free, or that any content is accurate or fit for a particular purpose. User content is the uploader’s responsibility and doesn’t reflect CardArt’s views.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, CardArt and its operators aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses — including lost data or device problems — arising from using or being unable to use CardArt, using third-party tools such as AirCard, or relying on any content.

CardArt is a free service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can’t be excluded or limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will change the “Last updated” date when we do. We’ll announce significant changes on the site in advance. If you keep using CardArt after an update, you accept the new terms.
